Do you want to fly on an airline and earn rewards for the money that you spend? If yes, then you should get a Southwest credit card. Southwest Airlines is not only your best option to reach your destinations, but for earning rewards and saving money as well.
The best thing about their rewards program is they allow you to earn rewards for the things that you would have purchased anyway. This means you don’t have to purchase some special things to earn rewards. Different cards suit different persons with different needs. Generally, they can be divided into two categories: personal and business.
If you get a Rapid Rewards Credit Card you can earn 40,000 points. There are two types of consumer cards: Plus and Priority. The annual fee for using the former is $69 whereas the annual fee for the later is $149.
Both of these provide great benefits, but there is a small difference. Both allow you to earn 2 points for every $1 that you spend on Southwest Airline purchases. You can also earn 2 points for every $1 that you spend on Rapid Rewards hotel and car rental. For all of your other purchases, you can earn 1 point for $1. You can also earn anniversary points, plus allows you to earn 3,000 points whereas priority allows you to earn 7,500 points after your cardmember anniversary. If you use priority you will get 20% back on all in-flight purchases as well as there is no foreign transaction fee.
You can redeem points for international flights, hotel stays, cruises, and more. For the businesses, there are two options: Premier business and Performance Business. The annual fee is $99 and $199 respectively.
If you get a Rapid Rewards Performance Business you can earn up to 99,000 points. You can earn points for spending on social media, cable, internet, and phone services. You will get 6,000 anniversary points for Premier Business and 9,000 anniversary points for Performance Business.
